Lions Club gives Vision Screening

The New York Mills and Detroit Lakes Lions Club was at the New York Mills School this morning for vision screenings. Throughout the morning, a total of 380 people (mostly students) had the quick vision test. The Lions Club members utilize a WelchAllyn Spot Vision Instrument to quickly detect vision problems.

The screening is not meant to replace an eye exam by an eye doctor, instead it simply evaluates the eye to find potential vision problems. Students in grades kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 10th grades were evaluated today. Letters will go home with the students with the vision results. In the event that your child did not pass this vision screening, please contact an eye professional for further evaluation.

Join us, as we thank the NY Mills and Detroit Lakes Lions Club members for serving our school community.
