The New York Mills School District is a stable school district, committed to providing the very best in education and co-curricular experiences for our over 700 students.  Recent new construction and extensive remodeling of existing instructional spaces have greatly enhanced the educational facilities at both our elementary and secondary schools.

A supportive school district community has provided for the needed financial resources to operate excellent programs in wonderful facilities.  A dedicated staff of teachers, support staff, and administration take pride in the quality of the school district and in the services they provide to the families and students.

The city of New York Mills is a friendly neighboring community located in the north east part of Ottertail county and is situated midway on Highway 10 between St. Cloud and Fargo.  The city's location makes for an ideal setting for families and students to experience the best that Minnesota has to offer.

School Board Extends Contract

The New York Mills School Board has completed its Superintendent search and has extended a contract to New York Mills High School Principal Blaine Novak.

Pending the completion of the contract, Novak will succeed Todd Cameron who served as Superintendent in New York Mills for 10 years.

Novak has been with the New York Mills School District for 24 years.  In that time, he has served as a science teacher, a coach, Athletic Director, Community Education Director and, for the last 5 years, as High School Principal.

The interview committee recently spoke with four candidates that the school board had selected after an initial review.  When finished with that process, Novak was unanimously chosen by the board to succeed Cameron.
